UNICEF's Response

Aim: strengthen capacities within families, communities and nations to prevent H1V infection and care for those infected or affected by H/V/AIDS.

Priorities:

1. Prevent HIV infection among young people

2. Care for orphans and children made vulnerable by HIV/AIDS

3. Prevent parent to child transmission of HIV

4. Care for children, young people & parents living with HIVIAIDS






Care for orphans and children made vulnerable by HIV and AIDS

Aim: Orphans & vulnerable children living in family environments, having same access to health, education, care and protection


5 Key Strategies:

1) Strengthen the Capacity of Families

2) Mobilise and Strengthen Community-Based Responses

3) Ensure Access to Essential Services

4) Ensure that Govs. Protect the most vulnerable children

5) Raise Awareness to Create a Supportive Environment
